kinetic determination of ascorbic acid a with spectrophotometric detection

Authors
abstract

a simple and rapid method has been developed for the determination of ascorbic acid in fruit and pharmaceutical products. the method is based on the measurement of the reaction rate between ammonium molybdate and ascorbic acid in acidic media. the reaction was monitored spectrophotometrically at 800 nm by fixed-time and variable-time methods. the calibration graph was linear in the range of 5 0 ×1 0 - 6.0 ×10 m ascorbic acid when using a fixed-time method. the relative standard deviation for ten replicate analyses is 2.7% for 5.0 × 10 a scorbic acid. the limit of detection is 2.0×10 m. t he effect ofvarious species was studied for this determination.

A Highly Sensitive Kinetic Spectrophotometric Method for the Determination of Ascorbic Acid in Pharmaceutical Samples

In this study, a new reaction system for quantitative determination of ascorbic acid was introduced. The developed method is based on inhibitory effect of ascorbic acid on the Orange G-bromate system. The change in absorbance was followed spectrophotometrically at 478 nm. The dependence of sensitivity on the reaction variables including reagents concentration, temperature and time was investiga...

Spectrophotometric determination of ascorbic acid and dehydroascorbic acid.

We present a method for measuring ascorbic acid in methanol/trichloroacetic acid extracts prepared from human plasma after enzymatic oxidation of ascorbic acid to dehydroascorbic acid by ascorbate oxidase. Samples were assayed by spectrophotometrically monitoring the kinetics of the concentration-dependent absorbance changes of dehydroascorbic acid with phosphate-citrate-methanol buffers. Ascor...
